July has been an exciting month for me as a ScentBlocker Lady! ScentBlocker launched a new feature on their website which enables me to blog about myself and update readers on my day to day life. I am thrilled about the opportunity to blog as a female hunter whose hunting partner is my husband and as a hunting gal who loves the outdoors! I think this is a great addition to the website. Another bit of exciting information is that ScentBlocker launched a new ladies line for women hunters. Fellow hunting gals just like me are now able to choose from awesome new outdoor gear. My goal is to encourage other female hunters in their outdoor adventures and spike the interest of non-hunters to get outside and enjoy the sport of hunting!
Last week, I received my Lady Dream Season suit in the mail, and I can not express how incredible it was to put on camo that is made for a female, fits my body well, and will do the job in the outdoors too! Kudos to ScentBlocker! I am looking forward to the ’08 hunting season in my new Lady Dream Season suit.
On the hunting front, we managed to make a weekend trip to our lease in south Texas and Mike was able to hang a few Reconyx trail cameras in our favorite hunting locations. Once again, there was much tractor work to be done in preparation for deer season, and we are still in the process of mowing roads so we can get to our favorite spots.
Every other week or so, we hire a babysitter to watch the kids for the evening so we can go out on what we call “Date night’. Usually we catch a movie or grab a bite to eat but this past “Date Night” we visited our local archery shop and starting warming up the PSE’s! This time of year I start shooting a lot of practice arrows so I’ll be accurate and confident when deer season rolls around. I was so excited when I shot my first “robin hood” with my PSE X-Force bow….maybe it will be my good luck charm this season! I can’t seem to wipe the grin off my face….yep; deer season is just around the corner!

Hey Bonnie - You crossed my mind the other day so I thought I would look you up over lunch to see what you were up to now a days. Took me a while to find the transition from Janik to McFerrin but once I did I still wasn't sure I had the right person until I saw your picture on your ScentBlocker blog. It was great to read about your interest in hunting, love to do so myself as does my boy but my wife has no interest at all. Sounds like you have a great family and things are wonderful. Same here in Georgia. You mentioned in one of your postings that you are filming your hunts, are they being televised? Good luck this season and I'll check in to read about your progress. Take care, Shannon Buggs
